So I showed up for Chileno Valley Grasshopper #2 last Saturday. I wore some more secret clothing to go under the radar (getting the new kit this weekend). I know it worked because some idiot cut in front of me at registration. It also worked when I laid it down in some dirt before the start.

After all that I was still there way early. I passed the time checking out all the masters guys with their carbon wheels. Then I saw this:
Slam that stem After 5 minutes I settled on Elongated Humeri.

So we start off hard. Then it's cross tail along the coast and Levi is killing it. 20 guys, 10 guys, 7 guys, 4 guys, Finally we conceded that height and weight don't correlate to length and girth and just let him go. My new teammate Jim Stemper, Taylor Bertrand-Barrett and I rode the last 45 miles into a headwind on our own. Good times.

Tomorrow I leave for camp. Since it's called training camp and not "sit around and get fit later" camp, it may be a bit of a shock.

It's been a while since I've posted anything interesting on this blog. I did post about Paskenta last week, but that was just to boost Andy's confidence... Moving on, a lot has happened and is going to happen, here is some of it.
The little guy The major news is that my wife is pregnant. Those of you in my inner circle already know this. If however, this is news to you, maybe you should think about how you can get into that circle. Flattery can help.

The baby is due in April and it's a boy. The picture above is from a while ago, but it's still my favorite. Names, well we're thinking Sebastian and then Addison if we have girl next. That way we can call them Add and Sub for short. Before my mother has a heart attack, I should mention I'm joking.

We also moved again, for the 3rd time in the last 9 months. First Tahoe, then Rancho, now Folsom. We needed our own place due to the baby and the riding is way better. I have nothing good to say about the bike path and honestly, I don't know how Jesse Moore has done it all these years.

My form is coming around for my first major peak of the season, Kenda/5-Hour Energy Pro Cycling presented by Geargrinder training camp. It starts in 2 weeks down in Tucson.

Lastly, I've been spending a lot of my time working on the school thing lately. Well a lot more than I have in the past. As a result, progress has been good, but it seems like there's always more to do.

Well, that's the major stuff.

Rolling incognito While Ian Boswell was out riding with my former favorite pro cyclist Lance Armstrong (former 'cause he's not a pro anymore, duh), the rest of the who's who were riding the Paskenta Century.

Since this was a big event and I haven't received any new Kenda kit, I was forced to go old school. I pulled out the DB Club shorts, a blue jersey from cycling year zero and a pink vest my wife loaned me. It was a different feeling racing anonymous.

There was actually a cross wind this year. It wasn't bad, but it wore on a lot of people, including me. Basically the whole race wore on me and I was thrashed at the finish. Results are my Kenda teammate Andy JM won and I was 5th. I'm satisfied with that.

The real champion today was Brad Foster, this is the second year in a row he has hosted the winner. I can imagine this is getting to his head so I'll restore the balance by posting a link to this video. I stand by his chiropracting, his acting, not so much.

Many things have happened since my last post here. I apologize for the silence and promise to fill in the details soon.
